Bedford Community Garden
The City of Bedford Beautification Commission has partnered with the 6Stones organization to develop a Community Garden. The project is located at 209 N Industrial across from Trinity High School. Over the past 13 months, numerous groups and volunteers have worked to make this project a reality. Specifically, the Beautification Commission has spent numerous Saturdays working on the beds. Their overall goals for the project include to develop a sense of community, provide educational opportunities and produce fresh fruits and vegetables for those in need.

The garden currently cosists of 77 raised beds and as of February 14, 2012, 39 had been leased. For more information about the project select below:

Annual Plot Fee Schedule 
4 x 12 plot + background check = $40
4 x 16 plot + background check = $50
*Volunteers working on a team plot (listed on Plot Registration form) = $10
The 4 x 8 plots are full (no longer available).

2 ways to sign up:
1.  Email info@6stones.org to lease a plot or work on a team plot*.

2.  Volunteers who do not lease a plot and who are not part of a team listed on a Plot Registration form are not required to pay the background check fee. Simply sign up here and we will email the appropriate waiver to you.

*Team plots consist of individuals who lease a plot jointly...ie "Rotary Club Plot."

 

Election Information
The first day to file an application with the City Secretary’s Office for a place on the ballot for the May 12, 2012 election is Monday, February 6.  The deadline to file is 5:00 p.m. Monday, March 5.

The City of Bedford, Texas is accepting bids for the possible sale of the real property for the following locations:

3601 W. Pipeline Road in the City of Euless, Texas, comprising of approximately 8.46 acres, and more particularly described as all of Tract 22-A-R-1, part of Tract 22-R-1, and part of Tract 14-R, Sotogrande addition in the City of Euless. “Addendum #1 to the bid packet extends the deadline for the submission of bids to Friday, March 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.” The bid packet is available here.

Sealed bids addressed to David Miller, Deputy City Manager, (817.952.2106), 2000 Forest Ridge Drive, Bedford, TX 76021, will be received at City Hall until no later than 2:00PM, March 16, 2012, and be publicly opened and read at that time.  Bidders are not required to be present at the opening.

Boys Ranch Family Camp Out
Join us for a night filled with great family activities as we campout at the Boys Ranch Park. Pack your tent and a sleeping bag and head on down to enjoy camping out in Bedford. The night will include dinner, a movie under the stars, sleeping bag story time and s'mores.

Whether you like Rock & Roll, Jazz, Motown, Oldies or Rhythm & Blues "Twilight Thursdays" has a concert for you, thanks to a free eclectic concert series staged by the City of Bedford.

The Twilight Thursdays series begins at 7:00 p.m. each Thursday at the Old Bedford School's south Lawn. All of the Events are general admission, and no reservations or tickets are required. This free concert series is sponsored by the Bedford Hotel Association.

Park Donation Fund

For many years, the City of Bedford has provided an option through the water bill to make a $0.50 donation each month in support of parks.  In order to update our record keeping, we are requesting all of those customers who wish to donate $0.50 a month to fill out and return the form located below.  Once we receive your form, we will add the $0.50 donation to your total bill each month and until you no longer wish to participate in the program.  Please note that even if you may have donated in the past or signed up to donate in the past, your account will not reflect the donation until we receive the authorization form.
